VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A transit enthusiast in the U.S. is receiving a special package from Metro Vancouver’s transportation network.
Jada Natalie Stevens, a designer for TransLink, posted to Twitter on Aug. 15 saying a California family had reached out to the organization asking for one of its transit maps. Their son, who has autism, loves memorizing them.
The family of an autistic boy in Cali wrote to my team @TransLink requesting one of our transit maps as he loves memorizing them.
But we can do better than that! We’re sending him transit maps that we’ve collected from all over the world, to inspire his young, curious mind. ☺️ pic.twitter.com/ZLpVJkyvNt

Stevens said in a tweet that TransLink has collected maps from other systems all over the world, and decided to send them all to the boy to inspire his “young curious mind.” She said: “There is little else that pulls my heart strings more than a kid who loves transit maps.”
In the Twitter comments, other transit companies jumped in to offer additional maps and commenters posted links to transit blogs.
